1955 Chevrolet Task Force – Restored Classic Pickup
The 1955 Chevrolet lineup marked a major shift in truck design, offering both the older 1947-style body and the all-new Task Force body, representing one of the most significant style changes in Chevrolet truck history. This year also introduced optional V8 engines, power steering, power brakes, and industry-first wraparound windshields and rear windows on Deluxe models.
This particular 1955 Task Force pickup has been lovingly owned by its consignor since 1986. A frame-off restoration was completed in the early 1990s by the owner, a lifelong body and paint specialist. While the restoration was decades ago, the paint looks no older than five years, and the chrome, brightwork, windows, and seals remain in excellent condition.
Power comes from a 1968 Chevrolet 350ci V8 mated to an automatic transmission, providing strong, reliable performance. The truck has no radio or A/C, but the heat, vents, and lights are fully functional, and it drives exceptionally well—starting, idling, and sounding better than new.
The interior and bed have been meticulously finished with great attention to detail. This is a true metal restoration, not a bondo-filled respray—the underside is as clean and well-done as the visible surfaces.
